Feb. 2014:: The Young Adult Library Services Association has named Scoreboard, Baby one of its "Outstanding Books for the College Bound and Lifelong Learners." The list, revised every five years, highlights books that "broaden your horizons and deepen your understandings, whether you are preparing for college or looking to expand your learning in other ways."

Feb. 2013: The University of Wisconsin-Platteville chooses Scoreboard, Baby as its Campus Read for fall 2013. Freshmen read and discussed the book, and Ken Armstrong visited the campus on Oct. 10, 2013, for a presentation and Q&A.

April 28, 2011: At a banquet at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City, the Mystery Writers of America name Scoreboard, Baby the winner of the Edgar Allan Poe Award for the Best Fact Crime book of 2010. Click on the link below to read the press release:



Feb. 27, 2011: TVW’s Author’s Hour, hosted by Terry Tazioli, will feature an interview with Ken Armstrong about Scoreboard, Baby. There are three showings: noon, 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. In Seattle, the show airs on Channel 23.

Jan. 19, 2011: Scoreboard, Baby is named a finalist for the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Fact Crime book of 2010.


Nov. 21, 2010: Scoreboard, Baby is released as an e-book, available on Amazon Kindle:


Oct. 31, 2010: Scoreboard, Baby is named an “Editors’ Choice” book by The New York Times:


Oct. 26, 2010: Responding to questions raised about player discipline in Scoreboard, Baby, Rick Neuheisel tells ESPN’s Peter Yoon that there “were some cases where I erred in not being strict enough.” Yoon writes that Neuheisel appears to have changed his ways at UCLA, citing his recent suspension of four players:
